More trains, more flexibility, more connectivity
Our new timetable is here!
With more trains, more seats and quicker journeys, this is our biggest timetable in over a decade.
Our transformational timetable, along with other operators on the East Coast Main Line, brings more services and better connections to many of the communities we serve, meaning more seats, often faster journey times and more freedom to travel when you want.
It's now easier than ever to connect to the East Coast Main Line from Middlesbrough, Thornaby and Stockton to Darlington and from Sheffield to Doncaster.
What's new along the route:
Nearly 10,000 additional LNER services per year, across our whole route, meaning faster and more comfortable journeys.
An extra train per hour to and from London King’s Cross, taking the hourly service from five to six trains in each direction. This means there are 32 additional train services each weekday to and from London King’s Cross, and more at the weekend too.
Significant improvements in connectivity, particularly between Yorkshire, the North East of England and London, with over 60,000 additional seats per week.
Quicker journey times between Edinburgh and London with an hourly fast service, taking around 4 hours and 10 minutes, calling at Newcastle and York only. Some journeys between Newcastle and London are also quicker, taking just under 2 hours and 50 minutes.
More trains at weekends, with more options to travel on Sundays too.
Departure times from most stations have changed, so if you’re a regular traveller or commuter, your usual train might now leave at a different time. It’s a good idea to check your journey before you travel.
From 30 March 2026 the following LNER train services will run:
